Workforce Improvement Services Framework

01/04/2022

Our NHS Workforce continues to face challenging pressures, exacerbated by the impact of the pandemic, with increased numbers of patients needing care alongside reduced levels of available staff.

The NHS Workforce Alliance has launched a new framework agreement, Workforce Improvement Services (WIS), which aims to address these pressures. WIS offers solutions to secure extra clinical capacity and greater control over the agency market, connecting you with workforce partners who understand the challenges of NHS staffing, creating the right solutions for your organisation’s needs.

The agreement offers holistic workforce improvement solutions, managed and delivered strategically and sympathetically to each other, to deliver best outcomes with a strong emphasis on upskilling trust staff, knowledge transfer and exit planning.

WIS provides you with the ability to contract multiple workforce solutions under a single contract, including temporary and permanent clinical staffing, international recruitment, bank staff recruitment and management and non-clinical recruitment.

Benefits

  • Provision of scalable solutions, from smaller, focused commissioned services up to management of entire workforce solutions for trusts, or groups of trusts such as ICS footprints
  • Ability to deliver a range of workforce solutions via one overarching contract, with accompanying KPIs, contractual requirements and expectations
  • Development and upskilling of customers’ systems, staff and workforce departments to ensure long-term and sustainable improvements
  • Alignment with current policies and strategies including the NHS People Plan, the NHS ICS programme of work
