Threshold change for Cabinet Office commercial spend controls

18/08/2024

NHS England have advised that the threshold for reporting commercial activity to the Cabinet Office has been increased from £10 million to £20 million. This change means:

  • Only commercial activities of £20 million and above need to be reported to the NHS England Spend Controls Team for submission to the Cabinet Office.
  • Any previously submitted pipeline items below £20 million are now out of scope and will not be reported to the Cabinet Office.
  • There is no longer a requirement to report commercial activities below £20 million under any circumstances.

For further details, please refer to the full scope of controls on the gov.uk website or contact NHS England england.commercialsc@nhs.net, who also hold a weekly drop-in every Wednesday at 10am for which HoPs will receive the link to in the letter they will receive regarding this change.
