Procurement Bill update and part 1 consultation

The Cabinet Office have confirmed that they’re planning for an October 2024 commencement date for the Procurement Act, following a six month preparation period. This is slightly later than initially anticipated.

Secondary legislation will sit under the Procurement Act. Drafts have been published and consultation is live. This is a technical consultation, split into two parts. The first part of the consultation closes on 28th July at 23:45 and includes details of the scope of the light touch regime, exempt contracts and disapplication in regard to #NHS procurement. The second consultation will he on the transparency provisions and notices that will be used.
