26/02/2024

Learning & Development

A comprehensive package of L&D material is being finalised by the Cabinet Office. In our news item on 13th December 2023 we provided a link to the knowledge drops that are now live containing a series of on-demand videos, which can also be found here.

The core training E-learning modules are set to be launched in April 2024. These modules will be open to all procurement and commercial practitioners from contracting authorities and nominated individuals who regularly undertake procurement activity on behalf of contracting authorities. There will be nine modules - with a tenth certification module - designed to cover all the different elements of the new regime and will be available via the Government Commercial College website. Full details on how to access the modules will be communicated to contracting authorities by the relevant parties nearer the launch date.

Communities of Practice is due to be launched in May. This will feature a dedicated page on the Government Commercial College website offering resources, FAQ’s, meetups calendar including joining instructions, and an accessible forum for the commercial/ procurement community to connect and engage.

You can find out more details of all the L&D materials in the official L&D Brochure.

Technical Guidance

In support of interpretation and understanding of the new regime, the Cabinet Office will soon be publishing a suite of technical guidance documents to address all aspects. They will cover subjects ranging from transitional arrangements and covered procurement through to pre-market engagement, award rules, exclusions, and contract modifications. They will be published on the Transforming Public Procurement pages of gov.uk in phases - commencing in March, with the full complement due to be available by the end of June.
