New 2024 JCT suite of contracts

The JCT has announced that it will be producing a JCT 2024 suite of contracts.

Some of the major changes from the 2016 edition include:

gender neutral language
the use of electronic notices
updates to termination and payment provisions
updates to take into account the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020
changes which will 'reflect the objectives of the Construction Playbook'
incorporation of provisions that are optional in the 2016 suite relating to collaborative working, sustainable development and environmental considerations
a new contract - the JCT Target Cost Contract
