NHS PiP Estates Legal Series: Contractual options in response to construction price rises webinar

We’ve partnered with building construction expert lawyers Birketts LLP to provide you with advice on how to approach the procurement of new projects, and how to manage projects currently on site so that potential costs are properly reviewed before they spiral out of control.

Catherine Andrews and Sophie Thornley from Birketts LLP will give an update on current labour and materials shortages and the impact of price rises on construction contracts. The session will also cover:

• An overview of their experience of the commercial and legal position in general 
• The relief that may be sought from a contractor under existing Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) and New Engineering Contracts (NEC) contracts
• Fluctuations provisions under the JCT contracts and pricing options in the NEC contracts; and
• Management of claims and the steps to take in the event of a dispute with a supplier, how to spot early warning signs that the supply chain may be facing financial difficulty, and how to achieve the right balance between cost and quality to maintain the best value throughout a project
