Managing Director

Employer: Collaborative Procurement Partnership (CPP LLP)

The NHS Collaborative Procurement Partnership (CPP LLP) is the culmination of the collaborative working of four NHS procurement organisations which represents approximately 60% of NHS trusts and influences £7.5 billion of NHS non-pay spend. NHS CPP will deliver the Department of Health Future Operating Model for the procurement of medical surgical equipment and clinical consumables across three medical and surgical Towers. As a centre of commercial excellence it will deliver significant and sustainable savings for the NHS economy over the life of the contract.

With an operating budget £37m, the Managing Director will lead a team of approximately 120 staff to address all commercial expenditure in these 3 procurement categories across the entire NHS customer base. We do not operate in a market where customer and suppliers are mandated to support us.  The CPP LLP will rely on developing co-operative, strategic relationships as the means to realise our aims and the potential of the Future Operating Model.  The Managing Director will influence at the most senior levels to garner that support and commitment as well as successfully manage and meet the needs of multiple stakeholder relationships at the most senior level; ranging from the Department of Health, relevant clinical networks and its leaders, the  Membership Board and our strategic suppliers.

We’re looking for an exceptional individual who can create a future vision of success and work collegiately with staff teams and partners to deliver relevant solutions that supports front line staff. This role requires an inspirational leader with a track record of establishing and delivering commercial strategies which meet multiple stakeholder objectives in a complex/political environment. Someone who champions transformation and innovation in a context of complexity and competing priorities. It requires high levels of commercial acumen and political astuteness along with public sector values to deliver the significant savings which will enable us to invest more in front line care.
