Collaborative Partnership NHS CPP Reaches Final Stages for HSJ Value and Improvement in Procurement Award

28 May 2015

NHS Collaborative Procurement Partnership (NHS CPP), a four hub collaboration comprising NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC), NHS London Procurement Partnership (LPP), NHS East of England Collaborative Procurement Hub (EOE CPH] and NHS Commercial Solutions has been finalised for a prestigious award to recognise its role in helping to drive improvement and value in healthcare.

The HSJ Value in Healthcare Awards seek to recognise and reward outstanding efficiency and improvement by the NHS as well as look for examples of demonstrable improvement in outcomes.

NHS CPP has been shortlisted for its Total Orthopaedic Solutions framework. The Total Orthopaedic Solutions project, NHS CPP’s second project to come to fruition, seeks to deal with the notoriously difficult area of orthopaedic procurement by tackling issues such as lack of transparency, poor contract compliance and vastly varying prices.

The result of this ground-breaking project will result in better distribution of resources, sharing of skills, expertise and best practice, greater transparency within the supply chain of clinical products to the NHS, together with enhanced clinical engagement from within the NHS, year-on-year cost reductions, and long-term efficiency improvements and ultimately and, most important, better patient care and outcomes.

Keith Rowley, Managing Director, NOE CPC, says: “NOE CPC is proud to be involved in this collaborative project, working alongside LPP, EoE CPH and NHS Commercial Solutions to make a real difference to the NHS whilst avoiding duplication of effort. All four hubs are delighted that the work we have been carrying out is being recognised through such a prestigious award and that this project is helping to add value and make improvements within the NHS.”

The overall winners will be announced at an awards ceremony, taking place on 22nd September in London.
