Description
The GO Conference: Doing Business with the NHS brings together leading NHS buyers and procurement experts to ensure attendees better understand the needs of the NHS, enabling suppliers to respond innovatively to the key issues affecting healthcare spending.

Procurement at Trust, regional and national levels is changing radically as the NHS strives to improve its financial performance and service efficiency. Lord Carter’s final report on Operational Productivity in the NHS laid out ambitious plans to save £5bn per annum by 2019/20 by improving operational productivity, including procurement of goods and services.

Existing and potential suppliers must be ready for these changes if they are to secure any part of the £26 billion that the NHS in England spends on non-pay categories annually.

Description
NHS procurement has been the focus of much attention at a national level during 2016/17. In February 2016, we received the eagerly awaited final report from Lord Carter of Coles – Operational productivity and performance in English NHS Hospitals. Lord Carter’s recommendations encouraged greater collaboration between Trusts and its partners at the highest and widest levels.
There is some excellent work being delivered in the NHS, much of it through collaboration between NHS organisations, but also with its suppliers so this year’s HCSA Conference, Stronger Together, provides a great opportunity to share the good work that is going on. The conference will include the 1st HCSA One-Day Future Leaders Conference being held on Thursday 30th November.
NHS Collaborative Procurement Partnership (NHS CPP) is proud to be sponsoring the Future Leaders Conference, supporting the future of NHS procurement.
The event will incorporate dedicated sessions to provide delegates with an understanding of the current NHS Procurement Landscape and to provide them with advice and guidance around the tools required to provide a good procurement service for our patients. Workshops include – The Art of Negotiation; The Importance of a Robust Specification; An update on the Public Contract Regulations; An Update on the Future Operating Model; Big Data and the Systems that Support Us and more…
Helen Lisle is leading the event and said she is delighted that CPP is able to support and participate during the day. It is so very important that we consider the future of procurement and ensure that we have the correctly skilled and motivated staff within NHS Procurement”.
